If you attended our 5th Annual Dr. Horrible Screening, then you no doubt heard us announce that our event for 2013 would be a bigger all-day event. Well, here’s a little taste of what we have in store.
On October 26th, 2013, we will be holding our first ever Whedonopolis Web Fest!
It’s an all-day celebration of the best in web series and web shorts! As always, this is a charity event, and this year we are proud to be benefiting Journey House Pasadena , a multi-service organization whose sole purpose is to assist emancipated foster youth over eighteen years of age to meet their initial independent living needs, to access adequate and appropriate housing, education, and employment, and to build their self-esteem through personalized attention and positive outreach services.
Here are some of the things you can expect to see this year:
Panel discussions with some of the best and brightest web filmmakers, giving their insight on how to take an idea and turn it into a web series for the world to see!
A competition between some of the best web series and web shorts of the year, and YOU get to decide the winner!
And, of course, our traditional screening of Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog and The Guild/ Season 6!
We’re still in the process of setting up the web portal for this event, so if you’re interested in volunteering, want to know when tickets go on sale, be a sponsor/benefactor, or you’re a web filmmaker who wants to submit a project to the competition, send us an email at webfest@whedonopolis.com, and we’ll make sure you’re the first to know when everything goes up. (Please note: Emailing us a link to your web series or short does NOT count as an official submission)
All of us at Whedonopolis are very excited to bring you a bigger and better event than ever before! Get ready for all sorts of fun!
