Executive producer Rob Thomas (“Veronica Mars”) brings the series iZOMBIE to the CW and debuts it on Tuesday, March 17, (9:00-10:00pm ET).

Rose McIver stars as Olivia “Liv” Moorea an over-achieving medical resident who got invited to a party and ended up being bitten by a zombie.  Liv learned that eating brains prevents her from turning into the standard shuffling brainless zombie so she takes a job at the coroner’s office.   She soon realizes that with every brain she consumes, she gains their memories, and has visions of their murder.  Once she convinces a local detective that she is psychic, they are off solving murders.  Having seen the first four episode, its clear that the show is a fun take on the standard zombie trope, mixed with a coming of age story for Liv.

People will compare iZombie to Veronica Mars for obvious reasons, but it’s not quite there yet.  The stories are definitely entertaining, but McIver is no Kristen Bell.  She is still getting into the character and improves with each episode, yet lacks Bell’s natural charisma.  That’s not really a fair comparison since iZombie is a completely different beast.  However, Liv’s relationship/banter with her fellow morgue attendant (Rahul Kohli) and Detective Babineaux (Malcolm Goodwin) really pops.  Let’s not forget David Anders as Liv’s creator and fellow zombie.  He is a delicious bad guy that you will absolutely love to hate.  The story itself and the world it creates have the potential to be pretty cool, so you should definitely give it a shot.  Check out the trailer below.
