The cast and the author of the much anticipated new movie, The Maze Runner, were in New York this week to kick off the opening of the movie.  The Maze Runner, released by Fox and directed by Wes Ball, premiered last night with a box office take of $1.1 million for the night, which is a pretty good start to its opening weekend.  Predictions are putting the overall weekend box office at a hopeful $30-$40 million.  Cast members Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scoderlario, Jacob Latimore, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, and Ki Hong Lee were some of the cast on hand for a special sneak preview screening earlier this week.

Are you going to see The Maze Runner this weekend?  I know I’ve got my ticket!

The Maze Runner is a new 20th Century Fox movie based on the popular trilogy of books written by James Dashner.  The movie is the feature debut for director, Wes Ball, whose short film Ruin is something to check out, so I’ll make it easy for you:

[From Wes Ball’s YouTube site] “RUIN – An animated short set in a post-apocalyptic universe. It’s only a tiny sliver of a much larger story. Thankfully, it’s now set up at 20th Century Fox to become a full length feature.”

Fox has announced plans to start pre-production on the next book in the series, The Scorch Trials.  Check back this weekend for more pics from The Maze Runner cast and crew’s visit to NYC.

Off to see The Maze Runner!  OK. Bye.
