It’s been two years since Jane Espenson and Brad Bell created a web sitcom about a couple who marry in Las Vegas on a whim… a same-sex couple. Now, it may become a sitcom on a network’s website. More after the jump…
Variety’s website announced that Husbands will be part of a slate of new web-only shows on the CW Network’s website, cwtv.com It also features another sitcom, “Stupid Hype” (about a hip-hop artist), and CelebTV.
Husbands is about Brady (Sean Hemeon), a gay baseball player, who impulsively marries his boyfriend Cheeks (Brad Bell) in Las Vegas. The first season showed them recovering from their sudden decision and deciding to make a go with it. They get help from their bff Haley, played by Alessandra Torresani.
The second season showed Brady and Cheeks dealing with media backlash after a picture of both of them kissing in bed is released on the internet. It featured appearances from Amber Benson, Sasha Roiz, Jon Cryer and Joss Whedon.
You can see episodes from the series at husbandstheseries.com. A hardbound book of Dark Horse’s comic book series based on the show is also available at comic book stores or at Amazon.
