LOS ANGELES, CA – May 12, 2014 – Fanboy Comics (FBC) is excited to announce that it will publish Fearworms: Selected Poems in September of 2014.  Written and illustrated by Robert Payne Cabeen (Tainted Treats, Heavy Metal 2000, A Monkey’s Tale, Walking with Buddha), this collection of horror poems and full-color artwork will feature cover art by Eisner-winning, Emmy-nominated artist Bill Sienkiewicz (Elektra: Assassin, Stray Toasters, The New Mutants). Fearworms is guaranteed to have readers squirming.

Fearworms features Cabeen’s new and previously published poems–from the 1980s to the present. He insists that his poems are enjoyed to their fullest extent when read aloud.  “Like so many poets, past and present, I write for the ear, not the eye. I would suggest that a well-crafted poem begs to be read aloud. When you recite a poem, you own it–it’s yours for life,” said Cabeen.

Cabeen’s narrative verse cuts close to the bone. These manically crafted word machines are visceral, psychological, haunting, and terrifyingly humorous. They are a regular feature on Larry Santoro’s award-winning podcast, Tales to Terrify. Renowned LibriVox narrator, Robert Neufeld, rips Cabeen’s fearworms from the page and implants them in the listener’s mind.

A free digital preview and free audio samplings of Fearworms’ poetry will be available on the book’s website, www.fearworms.com, starting on Monday, August 18, 2014.
