We’re three episodes in on Legacies, and my only complaint is we have to wait weekly for new episodes. I’m falling in love with the characters more and more each week, and I can’t wait to see where the storyline is going, and what monsters await us.

We may have been teased that the twins and Hope (Danielle Rose Russell) don’t get along but I think Hope will be friends with Josie (Kaylee Bryant). Every time they take a step forward they do take two steps back, but I am optimistic about their relationship. Whenever jealousy of Hope spending too much time with Alaric (Matthew Davis) doesn’t get in the way, they actually have a good shot at being friends.

Josie doesn’t know Alaric as well as we do, but Alaric would have saved any of the students in the school the way he did Hope, especially seeing as he knew he wouldn’t be killed. Ever since the twins were born he hasn’t been the type of man to take risks, so you know when he did that, he knew what he was doing.

I like seeing a mixture of the Alaric we know and love from The Vampire Diaries, but also seeing the father he has become, and the headmaster he has become. He was born for these two roles. He’s a lot less bitter than when he was training Elena, too. Of course, now it’s different because he’s teaching supernatural creatures to use their abilities for good, and not teaching a human how to protect themselves.

MG (Quincy Fouse) is still my favorite character. He’s such a good guy. I definitely can’t wait to see the writers expand more on his character. I can’t wait until he’s the one fighting the monster of the week.

My other favorite character is Josie. I like how caring she is. I also like that she’s trying with Hope. I like that Hope and Josie keep doing spells they aren’t supposed to do. While yes this is wrong, it’s a great way for them to bond. And seeing them take down the gargoyle together was great. I can totally see them as a powerful team. I also just think they have great chemistry together. I hope Julie Plec writes to that.

If you were a TVD fan or a fan of The Originals, how long were you betting it would take for Rafael (Peyton ‘Alex’ Smith) and Landon (Aria Shahghasemi) to get noticed? It’s lucky Alaric had Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) track them, or they could have ended up dead. Wish we could have seen more of Jeremy, but I will take the little cameo.

I really like the relationship that Rafael and Landon have, but I also like that it’s being tested. Landon keeps trying to protect his friend and it’s backfiring. There’s so much depth to this relationship and we’ll just have to wait and see how their relationship is tested, now that they’re back at the school.

I don’t think Hope was expecting Landon to come back, or at least it was bad timing. She was crushed when she saw him. I guess because she made inroads with Josie and then she was on the outs again, then walks in Landon and those feelings come rushing back. And she still has those trust issues.

There are so many characters and so many dynamics that we have yet to learn. It’s exciting that we are in the world we know and love, but it’s fresh and a lot of great new people to get to know.
