A familiar face is coming to The Flash; Susan Walters has been cast to play Caitlin Snow’s mom.

Walters has played Tyler’s mom on The Vampire Diaries and Lydia’s mom on Teen Wolf. She’s quite use to dealing with unique children.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Dr. Carla Tannhauser (Walters) “is a world-class biomedical engineer and CEO of a major research company.”

Caitlin and her mother may have science in common, but little else.

“The two have long had a difficult relationship, with Caitlin finding her mother cold and withholding, and Carla regarding her daughter as rebellious and ungrateful,” EW reported.

Walters will appear in season three and will potentially be a recurring character.

The former TVD mother went through a lot dealing with a werewolf son and then a banshee daughter. Her new TV kid won’t be dealing with her own powers (as of right now), but she’s right in the middle of the meta-human fight. We’ll have to wait and see what kind of mother she plays on The Flash.
