Shadowhunters 1.01- "The Mortal Cup"

Clary’s just this normal, beautiful 18-year-old girl and her whole world has changed. I myself had a life changing thing happen at 18 year’s of age, but it didn’t include magic or a cute guy like Jace. So her change is so much better. She gives me #LifeGoals.

*** Spoilers Below ***

I guess we shouldn’t be too jealous of her, seeing as her mother does die and her life has turned upside down. On the up side, she’s got a cute BFF that would do anything for her and now she has Jace. I can’t say enough of how jealous I am of that.

Clary is smart, funny and I have a feeling she’s going to be a great Shadowhunter, seeing as her mom was amazing.

Every time Jace opens up his mouth, I love his quotes. I just can’t get enough.

I love how there are some things that Clary subconsciously knows, but she just doesn’t understand. Maybe her mother should have had the talk with her a lot sooner.

I’m looking forward to also getting to know Izzy and Alec. She’s proven to be a tough girl already and he’s also cute. We didn’t get much from most of the Shadowhunters, but Clary was just introduced into this world. There will be more.

It was really exciting to watch Clary get introduced into this world, but to be fair, the episode didn’t really draw me in until after the clip that I had seen at Comic Con. That’s when things really got going.

Why is this cup so important? Does it create an army? Whatever it is, Clary’s mother held on to it a very long time and now Clary is in danger because of it.

I don’t think I would have stayed to have that chat with my mom if it was my 18th and my friends were taking me out. I’d be out the door too. I blame her mother for waiting ’til the last minute.

I’m intrigued with Valentine. He’s the big bad, but he’s also honorable. Those types of villains are always so much more interesting.

I love shows that have villains I can fall in love with. Villains that I never want to lose. Not that I’m rooting for the good guys to lose, I just want to keep the bad guys around longer. Take Crowley from Supernatural for example, I love him, but I don’t want him to defeat the Winchesters. I also don’t want Sam and Dean to kill him. It’s a complicated dilemma.

I’m so excited for this journey that we have begun. There’s some really great characters and we’ve only scratched the surface of them. Plus there’s other characters we’ve barely been introduced to. I can’t wait ’til episode two.
