Hound of the Baskervilles

James Marsters is a busy, busy man. Luckily, he’s accessible to fans at various conventions. However, for those who want to see James performing up close, there’s the ability to buy tickets and see him in LA Theatre Works’ production of The Hound of the Baskervilles in five performances from June 12-15.

The show is the latest in this season’s lineup, and is an adaptation of the classic Sherlock Holmes story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The version that will be performed was adapted by David Pinchette and R. Hamiliton Wright, and the production will be the California premiere of this version, which adds contemporary wit to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s original story in which the last member of the Baskerville line returns home from Canada to fight off an ancient curse involving a supernatural hound. While he does so, Baskerville falls in love with his neighbor while also adjusting to the local class system. The cast of The Hound of the Baskervilles includes James Marsters as the sole surviving Baskerville, Lord Henry Baskerville, with Seamus Dever (Castle) as Sherlock Holmes, Geoffrey Arend (Daria, (500) Days of Summer) as Watson, Chris Neame (The Prestige) doubling as Frankland and Sir Charles Baskerville, and Sarah Drew (Grey’s Anatomy) as Beryl Stapleton. Michael Hackett will be directing, and Susan Loewenberg producing.

Personally, I’ve seen several LA Theatre Works shows, and none of them have ever disappointed. Each show has been brilliant and created special memories for me of experiences that can’t be repeated. LA Theatre Works brings new readers/listeners to their shows by recording them for radio in front of a live audience, then later airing them on various radio stations. The actors don’t have sets, and have scripts in hand as their interpretations of the characters they portray are brought to life in your imagination.

There is nothing in the world like an LA Theatre Works production, and if you don’t believe me, check it out for yourself! Tickets are available here, and prices run from $15-60. You can also order tickets by calling the LA Theatre Works box office at (310) 827-0889. Get your tickets before the show sells out
