Jim Burba and Bob Hayes, of the global hotel investment event company, Burba Hotel Network (www.burba.com) have announced that “Space Station 76” has made the SXSW Film Festival its World Premiere.
“Space Station 76” is billed as “a character-driven, domestic dramedy, which takes place in a 1970’s version of the future, where personalities and asteroids collide.” What’s not to love? The film is directed by Jack Plotnick, produced by Rival Pictures, and co-produced by Burba/Hayes, the film stars Patrick Wilson, Liv Tyler, Marisa Coughlan, Matt Bomer, Jerry O’Connell, Kali Rocha, and Kylie Rogers.
Matt Bomer stars in USA Network’s popular crime drama, White Collar (check out our season 5 reviews if you missed them!), and fans of Buffy The Vampire Slayer may remember Kali Rocha as Anya’s vengeance demon pal, Halfrek. We’re excited that both these Whedonopolis faves are in this highly anticipated new film!
SPACE STATION 76 is a comedic drama about a group of people (and several robots) living on a space station in a 1970’s-version of the future. When a new Assistant Captain arrives, she inadvertently ignites tensions among the crew, prompting them to confront their darkest secrets. Barely contained lust, jealousy, and anger all bubble to the surface, becoming just as dangerous as the asteroid that’s heading right for them.
