A documentary that shows prominent producers through the process of creating popular TV shows is getting a distributor.

The producers of Showrunners have announced that Submarine Entertainment will distribute the film worldwide. The film takes the audience behind the scenes, into the writers’ room and on set with candid interviews with 20 of today’s top showrunners, presents an intimate discussion with the creators of your favorite TV shows.

Director Des Doyle says during his interviews with Joss Whedon, he spent a good deal of time talking about what it was like juggling three shows at once (Buffy, Angel, Firefly). That’s why he and his producers turned to Kickstarter to raise money to create the best possible film. He wound up raising 86 thousand dollars.
He spent 2-1/2 years compiling interviews, behind the scenes, on set with the actors, in the production offices, writers rooms, edit suites as the episodes are being cut & finally on the red carpet as the shows premiere. It’s the first time a full-length documentary is tackling this subject.
