In a phone interview with Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello, Neil says "I’m deeply offended by the inference that I have the physical prowess to be Gargamel."

"He’s supposed to be well over 50, balding, with a hook-nose and a hump in his back. Isn’t he?"

Neil is signed on to play a live character in the CGI/live-action movie currently scheduled for a July 2011 release. Rather than the hook-nosed wizard, Harris says his role is more "Jason Lee to the Smurfs’ Chipmunks."

Harris also believes the movie will appeal to a wide audience, saying "The script is much more clever, and relatively irreverent in a way that I think will make it not strictly family fare."

Other announced cast members include the voices of Alan Cumming, George Lopez and Jonathan Winters as Papa Smurf. Singer Katy Perry has been rumored to be Smurfette.

Ausiello also leaks some info regarding the Glee episode guest-starring NPH, and helmed by Joss Whedon. Neil’s storyline revolves around Morrison’s character, Will, and Ausiello’s sources confirm that the two will sing a duet of Aerosmith’s "Dream On."
