Starz Digital Media has gone all out and also produced a four-part motion comic series, digital versions of the official "Spartacus: Blood and Sand" print comic book, a mobile game for iPhone and iPod Touch, and even a free “Spartacus” workout app designed by Men’s Health magazine to get you into fighting shape. All of these are available at the iTunes storefront http://www.starz.com/spartacus_itunes.

Spartacus: Blood and Sand is about a Roman soldier taken prisoner and sentenced to death in the gladiator arena. However, he proves to be an excellent fighter and survives numerous battles and is then sold as a gladiator-slave to a financially-strained couple who own a gladiator training camp and hope to use him to regain their status in that world.

Spartacus stars newcomer Andy Whitfield as the title character, with Lucy Lawless (D’Anna, Battlestar Galactica) as Lucretia, who owns the gladiator camp with her husband Batiatus, played by John Hannah (The Mummy trilogy). The series is produced by Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, Joshua Donen and Steven S. DeKnight (writer/producer, Buffy, Angel, Dollhouse), who also serves as head writer for the New Zealand-based series.
