If you’re a fan of Joss Whedon, you’ve likely heard of Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. You might even have heard of it if you’re not. For the last couple years, high schools, colleges, and small theater companies have been producing live versions of the acclaimed internet musical. Recently the rights were taken away by the creators due to some mysterious “plans of our own,” but not before Chinese Pirate Productions secured the rights for one last production. From now until July 30th you can see what may be the last fan-driven live production of Dr. Horrible. Luckily there are thousands of geeks in town for Comic-Con, so you’ll be able to see it with plenty of like-minded fans.

The FBC Crew attended Showtime’s 2011 panel entitled ‘Tired of Ordinary Television,’ which featured three of its TV shows: Dexter, Shameless, and the upcoming Homeland. Despite taking place in Ballroom 20, which holds a little over 4,000 attendees, each show’s panel felt more intimate than most. Although each show received an undivided allotment of time during the two-hour panel, the entirety of Showtime’s programming fell a bit flat, lacking both fans in the room and exciting news from the shows.
Robot Chicken came back to Comic Con this year, and this time not only did Whedonopolis get in, but I was front row and center in front of Seth Green (so close Seth almost hit me with a Hersheys Kiss when “passing” them out to the audience).
