Buffy: Season Nine #1 Review: Life is a Party

Buffy is back in more ways than one! Tuesday marked the debut of the first issue of Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 9 #1 (written by Andrew Chambliss, pencilled by Georges Jeanty, and inked by Dexter Vines) and a return to the relatable, character-driven Buffy fans expect. After the epic tone of Season 8, Joss and company promised to return to Buffy’s roots, focusing less on huge demonic battles and more on the personal relationships of the beloved characters. While not as strong as this month’s Angel & Faith #1, Buffy: Season 9 #1 still delivers on its promise to reintroduce us to our familiar Scoobies who’ve been gone too long!

Angel & Faith #1 Review: The Vampire With a Soul Comes Home

Let me start off by saying the title above is not a slight against IDW. They provided a home for Angel in the comic world when no one else would. Much like UPN, they should be remembered by fans as a savior to the series in a time of need, and both proved themselves worthy wards of the characters and stories we love. That being said, all Buffy and Angel characters are under the same roof (shared universe achieved!), and, if Angel & Faith #1 by Christos Gage and Rebekah Issacs is an example of where we’re heading, then I am one happy comic book sniffer!
