Comic-Con ’07 – Catching Up With Mercedes McNab and Tony Todd

The pressroom for the new horror movie “Hatchet” was a whirlwind of activity, and we were lucky enough to steal a few minutes with both Mercedes McNab (Harmony on “Angel” and Misty on “Hatchet”) and Tony Todd (Vyasa on the “Angel” episode “The Shroud of Rahmon”, Steve on “Shadow Puppets,” with James Marsters, and Clive “Rev. Zombie” Washington on “Hatchet”) to discuss their characters in the movie as well as reminisce about their past participation in the Whedonverse and give us the skinny on what’s next for them.

The Job – This Month’s Victim: Steve Tartalia (James Marsters’ Stunt Double)

James Marsters often speaks admiringly of Steve Tartalia, his stunt double on “Buffy” and “Angel,” during his Q&As at different conventions. Steve worked for many years in Hong Kong doing action films and then, as of season 4 of “Buffy,” became the side of Spike that faced off with the Slayer, Glory, her minions and all the baddies that showed up on “Angel” season 5. A Tale of Online Murders Gets a Watcher

One of the glad surprises we had while at Creation Entertainment/Fangoria’s Weekend of Horrors in New Jersey last weekend was finding a small table in the dealer’s room promoting the upcoming thriller “iMurders”, and its director and producer Robbie Bryan sitting there, all ready to talk up his new project which features both Linda Hamilton (Sarah Connor in the “Terminator” movies) and our very own Anthony Stewart Head (Giles on “Buffy,” obviously).
