There’s a new horror thriller film called “Shadow Puppets,” starring James Marsters (“Buffy The Vampire Slayer” and “Angel”), Tony Todd (“Candyman”) and Jolene Blalock (“Star Trek: Enterprise”), that’s created a lot of buzz in the industry, thanks, in part, to sci-fi and horror fan support. This support is so strong, it got the film a weeklong theatrical engagement in L.A., starting next Friday 6/22. We caught up with writer and director, Michael Winnick, to tell us what it’s all about, how it all started and why fandom generally rules.

Welcome to part two of our amazing interview with Vladimir Kulich. It’s not often that we’re afforded the luxury of a long interview, as in this case, and we truly appreciate it. Vladimir Kulich, first and foremost, is tall. Very tall. He’s also incredibly gracious, warm, funny and generous, and in view of the resounding success on DVD of the latest movie he was involved in (“Smokin’ Aces”), we wanted to catch up with him and see what he’s been up to, besides that movie, since his time on “Angel” and his unforgettable performance as Bulywif in “The 13th Warrior” with Antonio Banderas. Yesterday was the release date of the DVD for the “remix” of “The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari,” out of the mind of director David Lee Fisher, with Daamen Krall playing the title role of Dr. Caligari. We caught up with them to see how they went about the process of shooting a new version of the classic silent film, a prime example of German expressionism. Here’s what they told us.
