Jane Espenson’s goal for Husbands was to be picked up by a network (can presently been seen on CWSeed ). Other projects were made to be sold directly to fans, such as Joss Whedon’s Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog , Felicia Day’s webseries The Guild (which grew into the webchannel Geek and Sundry), Dichen Lachman’s Whedon-talent packed film Lust For Love and the presently being produced Con Man by Alan Tudyk and PJ Haamas.
The Star Trek: Renegades project was produced as a series pilot with the hope that CBS would pick up the independent online series and put Star Trek back on the network.
