He’s well-known as a comedian, and once studied for a Ph.D in physics. Now, he’ll be a major villain for the 12th Doctor later this year.
The BBC announced Ben Miller will be joining the show later this year. “As a committed Whovian, I cannot believe my luck in joining the Twelfth Doctor for one of his inaugural adventures,” he says. “My only worry is that they’ll make me leave the set when I’m not filming.”
According to EnStars, Miller could appear in the episode, “Robots of Sherwood”, written by Mark Gatiss, although, this has not been confirmed yet. Still, executive producer and head writer Steven Moffat is excited by the addition of Miller. “Mark Gatiss has written us a storming villain for his new episode,” he said, “and with Capaldi in the TARDIS, we knew we needed somebody special to send everybody behind the sofa. And quite frankly, it’s about time Ben Miller was in Doctor Who!”
Alexander Armstrong, Miller’s partner in the comedy duo Armstrong and Miller, appeared in the 2011 Christmas special.
