Ending months of speculation, CBS offered its first look at Star Trek: Discovery at its upfront presentation in New York on Wednesday afternoon.  The new program, which will premiere on CBS with following episodes available at the subscription streaming site, will be set about 10 years before Capt. James T. Kirk’s famed “five-year mission” in the original 1960s Star Trek series.

Sonequa Martin-Green (The Walking Dead), who plays First Officer Michael Burnham, and Michelle Yeoh (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), who plays Capt. Philippa Georgiou, are featured in newly released photos.  Other cast members include: Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter franchise) as Captain Lorca, Doug Jones (The Strain, Falling Skies) as science officer Lt. Saru; Rapp (A Beautiful Mind) as Lt. Stamets, an astromycologist and science officer on the Discovery; and Rainn Wilson (The Office) as Harry Mudd.

Here is the first trailer for Star Trek: Discovery.
