The 2014 NBC series Constantine is blazing back from cancellation hell with a new season, a new network, and a new look.

The CW has greenlit an animated Constantine series for its digital network CW Seed, joining Vixen and the upcoming DC Freedom Fighters: The Ray, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Matt Ryan, who played John Constantine in the NBC series, as well as over in CW’s Arrow, will return to voice the character in animation – after recently doing the same for the upcoming animated film Justice League Dark.

Given that Ryan has appeared as Constantine in the interconnected DC-CW universe, an early question was if the character would take part in any future crossovers. The CW president Mark Pedowitz said there are no plans for that at this time, but that he was open to Ryan doing more appearances in the live-action shows.

The animated Constantine will be executive produced by David S. Goyer, Greg Berlanti, and Sarah Schechter. No mention is made of NBC showrunner Daniel Cerone being involved with the animated version.
