Barry won’t be the only speedster roaming the streets on The Flash soon. Wally is getting his very own powers and The CW has given us the first look at the Kid Flash.

FLA03_KidFlashPubAccording to Variety, Kid Flash will be making his debut in the season three premiere on Oct. 4 at 8/7c pm. The episode is titled “Flashpoint.”

Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) got zapped with Barry’s energy in STAR labs but didn’t show any signs of metahuman powers after the incident.

That whole scene is a non-issue since Barry (Grant Gustin) went back in time to save his mother totally altering history. How Wally gets his powers is a mystery, as is the new world we will see Barry in when we return.

If any of you are like me and haven’t read the comics and are just obsessed with the show, what do you think of this new Flash?

FLA03_KidFlashSocialIn the DC Comics, Kid Flash is the teen sidekick of The Flash. I have no reference points to know anything about this character. I don’t think Barry needs a sidekick but it doesn’t surprise me that Wally would want to be his sidekick. He did start trying to save people after The Flash saved him.

Wally was definitely starting to be a more integral character by the end of season two but I would never have guessed that he would become a metahuman too. I’m not sure how I feel about this.

I’m more concerned about how the world is going to look when we return. Barry’s mother is alive so he wouldn’t have grown up with Joe, which is really a shame. I think Joe is a big part of what makes Barry who he is.

Are you excited to see the Kid Flash’s debut?
