That same weekend, the staff will also attend WesterCon 68 (westercon68.org/) at the Town and Country Hotel, in San Diego, CA, July 2-5, 2015.
Three days later, the 2015 Whedonopolis Road Trip lands at the San Diego Convention Center, for their first ever on-floor presence (Table B7) for San Diego Comic-Con 2015 (www.comic-con.org/cci), July 8-12, 2015!
Fans and friends can visit the tables at each event and learn about the latest additions to our growing guest list for Whedonopolis 2016 (www.WhedonCon.org), including our expanded partnership with Space Command, the new movie from writer-producer Marc Scott Zicree.
Our enhanced presence at San Diego Comic-Con also includes a special guest appearance and signing by actress Juliet Landau (Buffy/Angel), who will preview her latest project in a Comic-Con exclusive on Sunday, July 12th, before introducing our screening of the Buffy fan-favorite musical episode, “Once More With Feeling,” in Room 6BCF 2:45-4:15 PM.
Juliet will also be signing the new Sponsorship perk available for supporting her personal project, A Place Among the Dead, in advance of the upcoming IndieGoGo campaign that will launch shortly!
Ms. Landau will also be the Guest of Honor at the upcoming Whedonopolis 2016 event next year, on May 13-15th, to take place at the Airtel Plaza Hotel, adjacent to the Van Nuys airport in Los Angeles. Membership opportunities will be available at all three conventions.
In addition, WhedonopolisCon Co-Chairs Marsia Powers and Tony Caballero will be appearing on the Comic-Con panel Mobilizing Fandoms for Charity along with representatives from the California Browncoats, Random Acts, Gaslight Gathering, and GISHWHES to discuss how to utilize various Fandoms to help create non-profit organizations, contribute to charitable causes and explore how everyone can get more involved individually, locally, and globally with a fandom related charity. This panel takes place Saturday, July 11th at 11AM in Room 14A.
Also, at each event, Whedonopolis will have convention-exclusive t-shirts, posters, and postcards available, as well as special signing opportunities to be announced.
