Adult Swim and its sponsors (Intel, Lexus and State Farm) are getting in the groove of SDCC with great on-site opportunities, including free ice cream, VIP access to panels and free rides around the Gaslamp District, as well as on-air and on-line offerings.
“With these new promotions, we have taken this extraordinary convention experience and amplified it for all of our fans, whether they are at the con or following along at home,” said Joe Hogan, exceutive vice president of Young Adult Sales for Turner Broadcasting.
To help fans prepare for SDCC, Adult Swim and State Farm will create 5 custome videos (2 on-air spots and 3 digital content pieces) featuring Super Steve Frost (Nathan Barnatt), a helpful superhero invented just for the occasion. Super Steve Frost makes his debut in a 30 second spot that airs on the network this week and introduces 3 custom videos, offering fan assistance on how to create the ultimate homemade costumes, what to pack for the trip and how to rule the con! A spot recapping Super Steve Frost’s experience at SDCC will air on Adult Swim during the week of August 18th.
At the con, Adult Swim and State Farm will sponsor the Adult Swim “Cool Treats” ice cream truck that will feature Super Steve Frost handing out refreshing treats and helpful items to con attendees throught the weekend. The truck will be featured at various locations within the Gaslamp District and on-site at the Adult Swim Fun House and Planetarium.
Additonally, they are bringing back the popular Adult Swim’s Get to a Better State Sweepstakes, featuring the golden ticket promotion. Beginging at 10am on Thursday, July 24th at the Asult Swim booth (#3721), th enetwork will distribute a custome broshure containing detials of its panels, events and off-site activities. Randomly including in 10 pamphlets will be a golden ticket which grants one lucky fan and a guest V.I.P. status for a load of Adult Swim happenings, including seating at the Adult Swim panels, fast pass access to the Adult Swim Fun House and Meatwad Full Dome Experience and more! Adult Swim has partnered with Lexus to provide its “Free Rides” program that was originally launched in 2012. 5 Lexus CT Hybrid vehicles – completely wrapped in Adult Swim artwork – will offer SDCC attendees free rides troughout the Gaslamp District. Riders must be 18 or older.
New partner Intel will bring the excitment of SDCC home to the fans who can’t make it to the event, with its digital sponsorship of the all-new website Adult Swim Panels. Starting Monday, July 21st, they will feature 6 of the network’s most popular panels from 2013 to build excitement in advance of this year’s event. On August 1st, the site wil be updated to include 6 full-length panels from this year’s con, including Robot Chicken, Rick & Morty, Mike Tyson Mysteries, The Venture Bros. and an Adult Swim animation panel.
