Red Carpet Interviews: HBO’s The Case Against 8

It took 2 determined couples – Kris Perry and Sandy Stier, Jeff Zarrillo and Paul Katami – to decide to take California’s passing of Proposition 8 in Nov 2008 to court. They and their lawyers, Ted Olson and Ted Boutrous, knew that standing by and seeing California citizens’ civil liberties being denied via politics and public opinion was not an option. Something had to be done. With the assistance of AFER (American Foundation for Equal Rights) they took their case all the way to the Supreme Court of the United States. After more than 5 years, SCOTUS sided with the plaintiffs and ruled against Prop 8 on June 26, 2013.

This new documentary by filmmakers Ben Cotner and Ryan White bring this historical saga to the big screen June 6th and on HBO on June 23rd. Visit HBO”s site here:
