Doctor Who CapaldiIt’s a New Year, and also time for a new Doctor. The BBC announced that production for the eighth season is underway.

 

 

When Peter Capaldi arrived for his first day of work at the BBC studios in Cardiff, he said, “New job, first day, slightly nervous. Just like the Doctor, I’m emerging from the TARDIS into a whole other world.”

Steven Moffat, who wrote the first episode of the new season, added, “First the eyebrows! Then, at Christmas, the face! Coming soon, the whole Doctor. In the Cardiff studios, the Capaldi era begins.”

Here’s the first picture, but what Capaldi is wearing will not be the official look for the 12th Doctor:

According to a recent article from Blastr, the premiere will include Neve McIntosh as Madame Vastra, Catrin Stewart as Jenny Flint and Dan Starkey as Strax. There’s also a chance that eventually Alex Kingston will be back as River Song. New episodes of Doctor Who will premiere later this year.
