Back in January, Juliet Landau and Deverill Weeks  presented a documentary short film they co-directed about a famous make-up artist whose work has been featured in very popular films. Next month, the film will get its New York premiere.

Dream Out Loud is about Kazuhiro Tsuji, whose makeup skills have been a big part of movies such as the 2001 version of Planet of the Apes, Benjamin Button, Total Recall, Norbit, Hellboy, and  Looper. It premiered in Pasadena a couple of months ago to rave reviews. Tsuji also unveiled a special creation for that event, an incredible bust of Abraham Lincoln. Here’s a photo from the event’s Facebook page:

Dream Out Loud shows Tsuji’s latest creation from start to finish. The film includes interviews with Gordon-Levitt, Rian Johnson (who wrote and directed Looper), and famed directors Guillermo del Toro and Philip Kaufman.

The New York showing will be at Pier 94 in New York City, Friday April 5th at 6 PM. Tsuji will unveil another project especially for this screening. For more information, visit the premiere’s Facebook page.
