There will be 10 new episodes written by a team working under creator/executive producer Russell T. Davies. Doctor Who/Torchwood alum Julie Gardner will return to executive produce, and new to the EVP mix is BBC Worldwide Productions EVP Jane Tranter. Tranter has extensive producing experience including a stint on BBC series Jekyll. Davies will serve as showrunner.

Starz will debut the series in the US, and BBC One in the UK, both in Summer 2011. BBC Worldwide will handle distribution outside of the US.

John Barrowman and Eve Myles will return to the show with new cast to be announced.

Instead of being largely confined to Wales, the new series will have stories taking place in the US and around the world. Captain Jack flirting and traipsing around the world? I’m sure we won’t mind.
