Red is part of the new SyFy Saturday Original Movie series that re-imagines classic fairytales. Beauty and the Beasts: A Dark Tale, aired in February. Other projects in the series will be based on tales of Aladdin, Hansel & Gretel, and Sinbad, among others.
Scheduled to premiere in 2011, the action-packed Red stars Felicia as "Red", a werewolf-hunting descendant of Little Red Riding Hood. She brings her fiance (Stargate Atlantis‘ Kavan Smith) home to meet the family and introduce him to their business, but complications arise when he gets bitten by a werewolf and her family insists on killing him.
Red also stars Stephen McHattie (Watchmen) and is produced by Angela Mancuso, who previously produced SyFy’s movie Fire & Ice starring Amy Acker.
