Doctor Who: The Waters of Mars premieres Saturday December 19, 9:00pm ET/PT on BBC AMERICA (for those without a “friend in Britain”).  The final two specials, Doctor Who: The End of Time, Part One and Doctor Who: The End of Time, Part Two, will premiere over the holiday season starting December 26 on BBC AMERICAGuest stars John Simm, Timothy Dalton, Catherine Tate, Lindsay Duncan and Bernard Cribbins.

I’m very proud that, although it took two years for the folks at BBCAmerica to implement what I told them during the Comic Con 2007/Torchwood Panel:  “If we all have the same “friend in England”, and we have the technology in our homes to see the episode the day after it screens in England, don’t *you* have the technology to do the same? ” BBCAmerica has taken my advice and will be screening Dr Who: The End of Time one (yes, just one!) day after it airs in England.

Do I really think that BBC America’s smart decision to show Dr Who episodes the day after they show in England is because of me? Nah. I am glad that someone in corporate figured out how much advertising revenue they were loosing by not keeping up with their viewers’ home technology. Perhaps for next season of Dr Who and Torchwood they will actually screen them the same day and uncut.
