Chi McBride (Emerson Cod) summed up the feelings for many when he quipped, “We have pitchforks and torches to give out to take to ABC…err… wait there are children in the audience, make that plastic spoons and glow sticks.” Ellen Greene (Vivian) thanked the fans for their support and for their efforts to keep the show alive.

Although notice of the cancellation came very late in the filming of the final episode, series creator Bryan Fuller said that thanks to some very helpful special effects and post production houses they were able to fashion a “conclusion” to the series.

How does the series end? Which Firefly actor plays a pivotal role in one of the episodes? You can find out beginning Saturday. However, this is not the end of the adventures of Ned and Chuck, as Pushing Daises will return in the fall in the pages of DC Comics with a 12 issue arc.
