Buffy #37 is here and the end is coming! With only three issues left in Season Eight, Scott Allie joins Joss Whedon as writer for the remaining issues. If these upcoming issues are anything like the current issue, we are in very, very good hands!
Being the lucky, little Cylon that I am, I managed to nab a seat at the Return of the Cylons: Caprica Season 1.5 Premiere Fan Event at the Globe Theater in Universal Studios – Hollywood last weekend. It was quite the event, what with the red carpet rolled out and a number of the cast and crew attending, including actors Esai Morales (“Joseph Adama”), Sasha Roiz (“Sam Adama”), and Alessandra Torresani (“Zoe Graystone”). Executive producers David Eick, Ronald D. Moore, Jane Espenson, and Kevin Murphy were also in attendance and brought an extra dose of excitement to the event.
It’s been a while since I’ve reviewed IDW’s mini series, Spike: The Devil You Know, by Bill Williams. Somehow, I missed getting my copy of the second issue at my local comic shop last month, but, after a heated game of kitten poker, I nabbed that rascal and we are back in business! And, trust me, you probably will want to do the same. If there’s one IDW Angel comic doing it right, this is the one! You bring the kittens, and I’ll bring the comic!
The final arc of Buffy season eight has begun, and Joss’ latest issue is pumping full steam ahead! Maybe it’s the feeling of the inevitable conclusion rushing towards us or the always enjoyable addition of “Spike” to the cast, but for whatever reason, this issue feels like the exact tone that Dark Horse has been going for since day one (a “Buffy” episode on a blockbuster movie budget) and damn, is it a blast!
Looks like the stars are aligning for Buffy and Angel fans. Not only did both Riley and Angel #36 get released on Wednesday, but the powers that be at both Dark Horse and IDW have made some universe-rattling announcements.
