Grand Slam Weekend is Upon Us

This weekend, May 1st thru 3rd, is Creation Entertainment’s 17th Annual Grand Slam Sci-Fi Summit.  Stars from across the fandoms are scheduled to appear, including star of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia Chase). Tickets are still available at the door, so come on down for some sci-fi goodness.

Friday’s schedule features appearances by Michelle Forbes (Star Trek: TNG– Ensign Ro Laren/Dara; Battlestar Galactica– Admiral Helena Cain; True Blood– Maryann), Nicki Clyne (Battlestar Galactica– Cally Tyrol),Colin Cunningham (StarGate: SG1– Maj. Paul Davis) and Dean Haglund (The X-Files– Richard "Ringo" Langly) and Star Wars‘ legendary CHEWBACCA, Peter Mayhew. Also appearing over the weekend: Michael Trucco, Sam Anders/One of the Final Five from Battlestar Galactica.

Also scheduled to appear Saturday: Amanda Tapping(StarGate: SG1 &  StarGate: Atlantis– Lt. Col. Samantha Carter; Sanctuary– Dr. Helen Magnus), Jeri Ryan (Star Trek: Voyager- Seven of Nine), Linda Hamilton (Beauty & the Beast– Catherine Chandler; The Terminator movies- Sarah Connor) and John Nobel (Lord of the Rings– Denethor; Fringe– Dr. Walter Bishop).  

This year’s event features a special "Twilight Sunday" with appearances by several of the stars of the movie "Twilight" and it’s upcoming sequel, "New Moon": Kellan Lutz (Emmett Cullen), Peter Facinelli (Dr. Carlisle Cullen), Michael Welch (Mike Newton) and Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen).

Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk at P.J. Haarsma Book Signing

At a Barnes & Noble Bookstore in Oceanside California, Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk signed autographs alongside author P.J. Haarsma to promote the release of his third book “The Softwire: Wormhole Pirates Orbis 3”  in his series of children’s books. The Softwire series are for kids ages 10 & up and have an interactive website featuring the game “The Rings of Orbis”, a forum and free downloads.

PaleyFest 2009: Dollhouse
