Wondercon 2009: Shirley Manson Reveals Why She Became A TV Terminator

In the 1990’s Shirley Manson was one of the most popular singers in the world. She had many hits with her band, Garbage.

Then, she tackled a bigger challenge…acting.

Manson has finished her first season as businesswoman…and Terminator…Catherine Weaver on Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronciles. During that time, she has killed people in interesting ways while beng interested in a new artificial intelligence program that may be the prototype for Skynet. She’s even using a recycled Terminator who goes by the name of John Henry. She’s also had to struggle with being a mom to Savannah, a young girl who wonders why her mom has changed after her father’s death.
She talked about her experience just before the show’s panel  at Wondercon in San Francisco last Sunday.

WonderCon 2009: Ed Brubaker talks about "Angel of Death" WebSeries

A well-known comic book writer has written a ten-part web series that will include some very familiar faces to Buffy and Xena fans.

Ed Brubaker visited Wondercon in San Francisco to tell people about the new series, Angel of Death, starring Zoe Bell. She plays an assasin who gets a serious head wound that changes her perspective on life. It also convinces her to strike back on her bosses…the mob. He took a few moments to speak with us.

Episode Recap: Dollhouse 1×02: "The Target"

The episode opens with an emergency at the Dollhouse three months earlier. The Actives are sent to their beds, while one them wonders why they haven’t showered yet.

Head of Security Laurence Dominic comes in with a small army behind him. He calls out for Topher. "Guns. Can I have one?", he asks. Dominic really wants answers. He learns someone cut Dr. Saunders like a jigsaw puzzle, and a guy named Samuelson got it worse. We learn it was one of the Actives…Alpha, as in the "problem" from last week. DeWitt says Alpha has had a composite event, even though Dominic says that’s not possible. It is, though. Alpha has killed a lot of people, including some Actives who were showering.

Except for a scared little Active, looking up and saying "They won’t wake up." She, of course, is Echo.

Episode Recap: Dollhouse 01×01 "Ghost"

Two women are sharing tea. One of them has an offer.


"Nothing is what it appears to be,"; the older person says. She is Adelle DeWitt. She offers the young woman a clean slate, by making a five-year commitment. The other woman disagrees. She says when you clean a slate, there’s always something left. DeWitt tells the girl, called Caroline, that actions have consequences, but what they do helps people and could help her, too. Caroline is skeptical, and says she just wanted to make a difference and take her place in the world. Still, she adds, actions have consequences.


"What if they didn’t?", DeWitt asks her.
