Chris Hemsworth and wife Elsa Pataky are first-time parents to a baby girl!
The Avengers and The Cabin In The Woods star, Chris, 28, confirmed to USA Today that he and actress wife Elsa (Fast Five), 35, welcomed India on Friday, May 11. They chose the name India because “We love the country and love the name.”
Let’s hope Chris has found time to learn some Spanish as Spanish-born Elsa has said, “I’m only going to speak to the baby in Spanish” and warned him to “Get ready fast with Spanish because, if not, you’re not going to be able to understand what we say.” Oh snap!
Along with a strong wife, the Aussie actor has a strong mother. Speaking to USA Today about his next film, Snow White & The Huntsman, where Snow White is a kickass fighting princess and he says a possible future inspiration to India, “Coming from a family of three boys, my mother was very much a feminist. When we would call each other “girls,” she would say, ‘What is wrong with a girl?’ Girls can be strong and you have to respect that. And we should encourage more strong female leads in films.”
With that attitude and all these strong women in his life, he is a perfect fit into our Whedonverse. Congratulations to Chris, Elsa and baby India!
