This year, the event, which takes place this Saturday, October 22nd, will benefit Kids Need to Read, a non-profit organization co-founded by Executive Director Denise Gary, writer PJ Haarsma and actor Nathan Fillion.  Kids Need to Read’s mission is to "create a culture of reading for children" across the country by supplying underfunded schools, libraries and literacy programs with books that will inspire kids to read.
