Fan Expo Dallas returns to Dallas May 29-31, 2015

If you’re located in the Dallas area, or can get yourself there in late May, Fan Expo Dallas is a must for convention lovers!

Fan Expo Dallas is run by Fan Expo HQ, which is one of the largest convention groups in the world and hosts almost 250,000 fans annually at its various conventions. One of the perks of Fan Expo conventions is that their basic single day tickets don’t sell out. So, if you aren’t sure whether you can make it to the convention until the last minute, you can still purchase a pass the day of the convention!

For those who can purchase in advance, Fan Expo offers a number of badge packages. Only have one day available? No problem! You can buy a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday one day pass. For those who want to make a full weekend out of it and maximize the experience, there are a number of weekend packages to choose from. The Deluxe Package gets you weekend access to the show and early entrance on Friday. Into perks? Fan Expo also offers Premium and VIP packages that allow weekend access and priority access to main theater presentations before general admission, as well as Fan Expo Dallas Exclusives. If the panels are something you’re really into, the premium packages are an awesome way to beat the lines and get front and center in the panel rooms. Parents who want to bring their children can buy any adult pass and receive the equivalent child pass for $10. I can’t think of a more fun way to spend the weekend than to bring your kid to a geeky celebration, like Fan Expo, for only $10!

Into cosplay? Having recognized the ever-increasing talent of cosplayers, Fan Expo decided to showcase the costumed attendees with a Cosplay Masquerade! This will be hosted by Devin Pike and Ben Ambroso. Even if you aren’t into cosplay, this event is sure to thrill, highlighting the artistic abilities of some people to transform themselves into their favorite characters!

There will also be autograph sessions and celebrity photo sessions available throughout the weekend. In my experience, at past Fan Expo events, although they get crowded, they are still small enough in attendance that there is a more relaxed and personal vibe throughout the weekend. Interactions with featured guests aren’t as rushed as they would be at a huge event like SDCC.

For Marvel comic fans, Stan Lee (who will be in attendance) will have copies of Marvel’s Secret Wars #1 with an exclusive variant cover at his booth. Speaking of Stan Lee, Fan Expo offers something really unique in the form of a Private Meet & Greet with Stan Lee. Talk about a once in a lifetime experience! Another cool event presented by Fan Expo Dallas is the “Saturday Night Shindig;” the official after party with music, a Cards Against Humanity Tournament, multi-player console gaming, and many more things – sounds like a fun way of meeting new friends!
