The newest episode of The Crazy Ones was hilarious and yet creepy, and I really enjoyed it. It started with Simon trying to come up with a pitch for the Australian Tourism Board and just not getting anywhere, especially since he’s not a fan of the country. We also met an old co-worker of Sydney’s, Danny Chase- played by guest star Josh Groban- who has written a song about her that is rather stalker-ish. I’m sure I’m not the only person trying to get that song out of their head after watching the episode. However, the latest episode of my favorite new show of the season also poked a somewhat vulnerable spot for me, since I’ve had a stalker. I’m not going to go into much detail, but I wish I’d been able to react to my stalker the way that Sydney managed to do in the episode. Of course, in her case it created issues later in the episode, but at least she was able to have her say.
Backtracking a little, Sydney’s former co-worker/stalker Danny is discovered to have used an old photo of her as the album cover to his new CD, which leads to a funny moment of introspection on Sydney’s old hairdo by Zach, Andrew, and Lauren. The “I’m SO done” face that Sydney makes is sheer perfection in that moment. Then, after the office has listened to the creepy song about her a few times, Sydney decides to email her stalker. Just like everyone else in the office, I yelled at Sydney not to do it. In fact, as I live tweeted the West Coast airing of the episode last night, I even tweeted:
Rule the first: DO NOT TALK TO STALKERS! #CrazyOnes @CrazyOnesCBS

That simple email led to a lot more, with Danny even showing up at Lewis, Roberts + Roberts. Of course, Sydney tells him off, hurting Danny’s feelings. It’s only made worse when after that moment, in the meeting with the Australia Tourism Board, Simon forgets to mute the conversation before making a nasty comment about Australia that the clients hear. This segues into Simon, Zach, and Andrew singing the song and the client liking it. Now they have to get the rights to use the song from Danny, who doesn’t want anything to do with them.
I’m not going to spoil the episode by sharing everything that happens, but as always, I must share my favorite moments. I loved seeing Simon, Zach, and Andrew in drag. I laughed so hard I actually rolled off my bed! I also loved hearing Danny singing at the end of the episode. His moment with Simon after that, and the resolution it created was brilliant. I hope we get to see Danny again in the future. However, my favorite moment of the episode was the father/daughter one between Simon and Sydney. It was perfect.
Did you enjoy Josh Groban’s appearance in the new episode of The Crazy Ones? Did the episode make you laugh? Let us know in the comments. And as always, the best way to catch “Sydney, Australia” if you want to watch it again or missed it last night is to go to CBS.com and enjoy! Don’t forget to check out next week’s new episode “The Stan Woods Account,” when Brad Garrett guest stars as the mysterious Lewis of Lewis, Roberts + Roberts.
