Ok, all. This one might be cut short because I’m a paranoid perfectionist, which means I spent way too long checking and rechecking an interview I just finished writing, and I need to go to sleep. Otherwise, I won’t be able to do more interviews and then nobody wins.
So, remember that handy post I made for us all, listing the Comic-Con essentials? Well, I hope you all followed it better than I did. No pad of paper, no bottles of water, and most disturbing, no deodorant. So the first thing I did was walk down to the store to pick up the essentials that I forgot (stupidstupidstupid *head/desk*).
So, once hydrated and deodorized, I went and took a bunch of pictures for you to look at. Because I like you.
Next, I went in search of a Comic-Con schedule booklet, because I didn’t have one. I don’t even know how. And then I went in search of a bookseller in the Exhibition room, because I forgot to grab one of my copies from the Dresden Files series before I left home. (I did a lot of forgetting this con.) I didn’t even have to search that long or bust out a map before I found a booth selling Cold Days (the one with the bad-ass cover where Harry is carrying a shotgun), snatched it up, and got a free book to boot. (The Watchers, if anyone was curious.) Then I came back to my hotel room to prepare for my interview with Georges Jeanty (Buffy: Season 8, 9). Have I mentioned I’m paranoid? Because I am. So I reviewed my questions. About five times.
Then, because the universe likes me, I got through the line of the Jim Butcher signing with plenty of time to spare before my interview. (Side note: he’ll be signing again on Saturday, if you missed him today.) Now, I’m a fangirl who, due to my paranoid nature, completely freaks out in front of authors I love and I’m rendered speechless. Usually. Today, I was too paranoid about conducting an interview to be paranoid about meeting Jim Butcher. Instead I waved and smiled like a normal person. (Seriously, you’d think journalism is a bad career choice for me, but I actually love it tremendously.) Said interview went really well and was super fun. Which is how they all go. Don’t ask me why I have to go through the nearly debilitating anxiety part first.
After that I started writing, ’cause I have to do that at some point in order to earn my press pass. And then I went to dinner with the Whedonopolis crew. Because we’re friendsies and we like each other.
By the way, if you’ve noticed the sudden lack of tweets from Whedonopolis, especially after I promised I’d be tweeting all the time, it’s because a lot of us use Verizon, and Verizon has decided to suck. There was no data to be found in the convention center, and I was lucky I could still text and make calls. So let’s all hope Verizon gets their crap together so that you all can get real-time con updates. Because I like you.
Alright, that’s all there is. I’ll see you tomorrow!
