Joss Whedon’s version of Much Ado About Nothing is making the rounds at film festivals before its official release this summer. South By Southwest, also known as SXSW, has just announced the movie will have its American premiere during the festival March 8th-17th. The official date hasn’t been announced, and tickets will be available soon.
The movie, starring Alexis Denisof and Amy Acker, also features other Whedonverse favorites including Nathan Fillion, Fran Kranz, Sean Maher, and Clark Gregg. It had it’s world premiere last fall during the Toronto International Film Festival, and will be part of the Dublin Film Festival on February 23rd. The Dublin showing, by the way, is already sold out.
Lionsgate will distribute the movie in limited release June 7th and wider release two weeks later. It’s the same studio that distributed The Cabin in the Woods, co-written by Whedon and director Drew Goddard.
