The Gentlemen from the Buffy episode “Hush” aren’t smiling right now. One of their own is gone.
According to a Facebook post and a posting by SCIFI RADIO, Camden Toy has passed away at the age of 68, He had been battling pancreatic cancer for two years.
He’s best known for being one of the heart-stealing Gentlemen in the Emmy-nominated silent episode “Hush”. He also played a demon named Gnarl who tormented Willow in “Same Time, Same Place” and a Turok-Han in “Showtime”. He was also the Prince of Lies in an episode of Angel.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1955, his career has included roles in dozens of independent movies and TV shows like The Bay and Shameless. He also edited some movies and shorts, and founded the Nada Theater based in New York City
SCIFI RADIO also added that Toy had a masters degree in Clinical Psychology, and helped people with addiction and recovery. He also recently earned a Master of Fine Arts in Screenwriting from Antioch University.
Although he was on Buffy several times, IMDB said that Sarah Michelle Gellar never saw Camden’s real face until she was give a photo of him.
According to Bea Henderson, Camden had been reading notes and hearing voice messages from fans and friends. Doug Jones also commented on his passing through Twitter and on Facebook.
