The Homo Heroes’ LGBTQ+ Superheroes Kick Off New Project

San Diego, CA — THE HOMO HEROES, an LGBTQ+ graphic novel, announces its latest project THE LEAGUE OF LESBIANS. Just in time for Comic-Con 2023, THE LEAGUE OF LESBIANS brings together a strong band of all-female superheroes from Starlight City, home to THE HOMO HEROES. The lineup includes LIBERTY LEZ, PUSSY-IN-BOOTS, BAT BITCH, DINO DYKE, BLACK MAGIC, and other daring, female crime-fighters.

“This project has been a long-time dream of mine,” says THE HOMO HEROES creator Todd Nunes. “Now that the first seven issues of THE HOMO HEROES’ have been published, I can finally focus on THE LEAGUE OF LESBIANS and their heroic exploits.

While THE HOMO HEROES are the protectors of Starlight City, THE LEAGUE OF LESBIANS extend THE HEROES’ efforts to other worlds and dimensions. “With LIBERTY LEZ discovering her true origins in THE HOMO HEROES initial series, she is now inspired to create her own first responder team to support THE HOMO HEROES,” says Todd Nunes. “These efforts include rescuing BLACK MAGIC from the Dream Dimension, liberating a planet where men are dominated by misguided matriarchs, and using the LEAGUE’s witty banter to combat their own infighting and drama.”

Created by award-winning indie horror director Todd Nunes, THE HOMO HEROES’ comics have been ranked #1 on Amazon Kindle’s New Releases in LGBTQ+ Graphic Novels. Characters include purple-caped PRIDE, LIBERTY LEZ, DRAG-O-LICIOUS, BACK-LASH, PAPA BEAR, BAT BITCH, PUSSY-IN-BOOTS and other flamboyant do-gooders.

THE HOMO HEROES will be exhibiting at San Diego’s 2023 Comic-Con in the Small Press Pavilion, booth #K-05, San Diego Convention Center, 111 Harbor Dr, San Diego, CA 92101.

ABOUT: THE HOMO HEROES showcases the LGBTQ+ community as strong, brave, courageous, and fabulous looking – just like their straight counterparts. The difference is that LGBTQ+ lifestyles, names, origins, and costumes, are integrated into the graphic novels, including being the target of homophobia – which Reverend Righteous (THE HOMO HEROES’ nemesis) boldly preaches to his followers.

As GLAAD has reported, “Non-LGBTQ+ people who are exposed to LGBTQ media images are more likely to experience increasing levels of acceptance and comfortability towards LGBTQ people.” THE HOMO HEROES furthers the goal that LGBTQ+ individuals should have the freedom to live their lives and not be discriminated against, and that schools should be a safe and accepting place for all youth.

THE HOMO HEROES Comic Books 1 – 7 are available in digital ($3.99), paperback (starting at $6.99), and hardcover ($49.99) on Amazon.com as well as www.thehomoheroes.com.
