They’re two of the most popular cast members of Firefly: Kaylee, the cheerful mechanic and River, an abused genius girl who eventually became a co-pilot.
Jewel Staite and Summer Glau have taken on many roles since then, and they’ve talked about careers at the Reno Pop Culture Con earlier this month.
It was a very entertaining hour. They both talked about how Firefly affected their lives and some of the other roles they played on TV.
Jewel talked about the new sci-fi short just released on YouTube (which this site reviewed). Summer talked about learning martial arts for Serenity and Wu Assassins, and revealed her ability to not blink may have cost her a role in a period piece.
They also commented about how social media has become part of an actor’s life and how they approach it.
