Love of Spock BJust in time for Father’s Day, Adam Nimoy, the son of Leonard Nimoy, hopes to get enough funding for a documentary honoring the career of his famous father.

Right now, the Kickstarter project, For The Love of Spock, has raised $391,000, with its goal being $600,000. Adam is collaborating with 455 Films, who also made William Shatner’s documentary, The Captains, about those who helmed all the ships of the Star Trek Universe. He and his dad had planned this film last Thanksgiving, since the 50th anniversary of the production of the Star Trek pilot, “The Cage” is coming this year. Nimoy died on February 27th, 2015.

The film is expected to include dozens of photos and film clips from Nimoy’s career, which also includes appearances on other TV shows including Dragnet and The Man from UNCLE, as well as Star Trek and Mission: Impossible. It also features Zachary Quinto, who plays Spock in the current Star Trek movie series, as the narrator.

Backers of the event can get a special poster of Spock, a chance to see the movie in Los Angeles, rare photos and even lunch with Adam Nimoy.

You can get more information by visiting the For The Love of Spock page on Kickstarter. The deadline is July 1st at 4 PM Pacific time.
