Marvel fans have been waiting restlessly for more information about the new Daredevil series that will be released on Netflix. The show is about a blind man named Matt Murdock (played by Charlie Cox), who was imbued with extraordinary senses. By day, he’s a lawyer, fighting against injustice using the law to help. By night, he’s a superhero called “Daredevil,” and works out of modern day Hell’s Kitchen in New York City. The show is a grounded, authentic, suspenseful, and edgy action drama that is executive produced by Steven S. DeKnight (Spartacus, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel) and Drew Goddard (Cabin in the Woods, Lost, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), as well as Marvel’s head of television Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Smallville, Heroes). Goddard also wrote the first two episodes of Marvel’s Daredevil. We’re happy to share that there’s a new teaser trailer for the first season!
Marvel’s Daredevil hosts an incredible cast alongside Charlie Cox (The Theory of Everything) that includes Vincent D’Onofrio (Jurassic World) as Wilson Fisk, Rosario Dawson (Sin City) as Claire Temple, Deborah Ann Woll (True Blood) as Karen Page, Elden Henson (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay) as Foggy Nelson, Vondie Curtis-Hall (ER) as Ben Ulrich, Scott Glenn (The Silence of the Lambs) as Stick, Ayelet Zurer (Man of Steel) as Vanessa Marianna, Bob Gunton (Argo) as Leland Owlsey, and Toby Leonard Moore (John Wick) as Wesley.
In addition, Marvel’s Daredevil will be the first of four epic Netflix live-action adventure series, and will delve into the backstory of how Matt Murdock evolves into the hero Daredevil. It will be followed by Marvel’s A.K.A. Jessica Jones, Marvel’s Iron Fist, and Marvel’s Luke Cage. These will all lead up to the characters teaming up in Marvel’s The Defenders.
The show will premiere with thirteen hour long episodes on April 10, 2015, and will stream in 4k. It will air beginning at 12:01 AM Pacific Time in all territories where Netflix is available. The series is being produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Television for Netflix.
