Whedonopolis and Fandom Charities Inc are proud to announce the addition of internet series Husbands to the lineup of the 5th Annual Halloween Charity Screening of Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog.
Husbands is a quick-paced, witty comedy about marriage equality from the minds of Brad “Cheeks” Bell and Whedonite favorite, Jane Espenson. In the first season, we are introduced to newly un-closeted pro baseball player Brady (Sean Hemeon) and actor/tabloid darling Cheeks (Brad Bell) who dated for a scant few weeks before having a drunken Vegas wedding to celebrate the legalization of gay marriage. They decide to stay together rather than do a “Britney” and embarrass “the cause.” Alessandra Torresani (Caprica) does a hilarious turn as Haley, Cheeks’ alcoholic and effervescent BFF.
Whedonopolis will screen the second season of Husbands, which is chock-full of Whedonverse guest stars including the master himself, Joss Whedon, in his biggest acting role to date. Other familiar faces include Amber Benson, Felicia Day, Dichen Lachman, Emma Caulfied, and the list literally goes on and on! (In case you’re wondering, Nathan Fillion guested in season one.)
The second season of Husbands will be shown along with the fifth season of The Guild, and of course the headline attraction, Dr. Horrible.
The screening will be held on Saturday, October 27 at 7pm at the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre at 4800 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood, CA 90027. Parking is free but limited. Street parking is available.
Proceeds of the event will benefit Best Friends Animal Society of Los Angeles. Attendees are also encouraged to bring non-perishable foods (canned meats and fish are especially needed) to donate to the SOVA Community Food and Resource Program.
