Sophie Devereaux (Gina Bellman) is a long time grifter who met Nate back when he was hunting down stolen property for insurance claims. Nathan and Sophie have an undefined romantic past. Sophie keeps her feelings for Nate on the surface and she is often trying to get him to open up about how he feels for her. Nate’s drinking and self destructive ways are a constant concern to Sophie.  

Parker (Beth Riesgraf) is a daredevil thief, who has no problem jumping from the top of a building. She is a troubled young woman who grew up in the foster care system. She is tough, can be a very no-nonsense team player but has a child like quality. She relates to the team like a lonely and lost little girl. They have become the family she never had.

Alec Hardison (Aldis Hodge) is a computer geek and guides the team in and out of trouble from his laptop. He is very good at moving other people’s money in and out of bank accounts. Alec has also been able to get close to Parker. He understands her painful past and she trusts him.  

Eliot Spencer (Christian Kane) is the muscle. Eliot can empty a room full of bad guys without putting down his coffee. He has a history of effective violence worldwide. Christian’s fierce expressions and choreographed fights are intense.  

Several other alumni from Joss Whedon TV shows have made guest appearances. Mark Sheppard (Badger, Firefly), who has appeared in four episodes so far, plays Jim Sterling, a rival of Nate’s from his days at IYS, the insurance company denied payment for the treatments that may have saved his son’s life. It seems Mark may have a reoccurring role. In episode 9, “The Snow Job”, Sam Anderson (Holland Manners, Angel) and Danny Strong (Jonathan, BtVS) both have guest starring roles.
